Message from the DC Department of Health Care Finance

As we move forward, we want to share guidance and insights into best practices during this time. As you already know, all Medicaid beneficiaries were auto-assigned to the District’s new Managed Care Organizations. As a result, beneficiaries will receive care through one of the three MCOs. They are AmeriHealth Caritas DC, MedStar Family Choice DC and CareFirst Community Health Plan DC.  

To assist you during the October 1, 2020- December 31, 2020 transition period, we are offering several MCO Provider Forums where we will share, along with the MCOs, best practices.

These forums will also give you practical insights into how to answer any questions from your patients and how to ensure that you receive timely payments for services rendered.  

We have partnered with several organizations to ensure that we reach as many providers as possible.  

We hope you will join us as we work to ensure that all Medicaid beneficiaries receive the best care possible and that you, as a Provider, are well informed during this transition process.
