Fast Track to Leadership

The Fast Track to Leadership Program is a special initiative overseen by the Women In Medicine and Early Career Physicians Sections. The goal of the program is to accelerate the professional and personal development of early-career medical professionals by providing them with targeted leadership opportunities.

This program aims to:

  • Enhance Clinical Skills and Knowledge: Equip mentees with advanced clinical skills and up-to-date medical knowledge through direct guidance and practical insights from experienced mentors.
  • Promote Professional Growth: Support the mentees in achieving their career objectives, including specialization, research opportunities, and leadership roles within the medical field.
  • Open Doors to Organized Medicine: Prepare the mentees for leadership positions within MSDC or other medical societies.
  • Foster Networking and Collaboration: Create a robust network of medical professionals, facilitating the exchange of ideas, collaborative research, and professional support.
  • Encourage Lifelong Learning and Development: Instill a culture of continuous learning and self-improvement, ensuring mentees stay current with evolving medical practices and innovations.
  • Improve Patient Care: Ultimately enhance patient care by ensuring that mentees develop into highly skilled, compassionate, and competent medical practitioners.

What to expect from the FT2L program:

  • The MSDC Mentorship Program
  • Alternative Career Path Seminar: A panel to discuss alternative careers in medicine including entrepreneurship, industry, and consulting. (coming soon)
  • Training on how to participate in the AMA governance and policymaking process. (spring 2025)
