A Conversation About Men's Health June 9, 2021
JUNE IS MEN'S HEALTH MONTH
Did you know:
14.9% of men aged 18 and over are in fair or poor health*
51.9% of men aged 20 and over have hypertension*
The purpose of Men’s Health Month is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems--including behavioral health problems--and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys. In addition, it is intended to encourage men to make healthy choices in order to prevent disease. This month provides health care providers, public policy makers, the media, and individuals an opportunity to encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury.
In this video recording, MSDC President Dr. E.W. Emanuel interviews Dr. Dock Winston, a Board-certified Urolgist at Kaiser Permanente, about specific health problems and challenges that men face in detection and treatment of men's health problems.
