AGA Advocacy Day September 23, 2021 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) is hosting its virtual fall Advocacy Day on Thursday, September 23. Like this past spring, we are taking it virtual with all of the congressional meetings occurring via conference calls. This is a great opportunity for you to “meet” with your members of Congress and share how legislation impacts GIs and patient care in their communities.
Why attend the event?
Lawmakers need to know how their constituents are being impacted. By meeting with them and their staff you’re humanizing the legislation we are advocating for and illustrating how AGA and its members can serve as an important resource when health care policies are being discussed.
Members with all levels of advocacy experience are encouraged to participate. We make it easy by coordinating your congressional meetings, providing policy one-pagers to share and offering training to help you tell your stories and you won’t be there alone! AGA leadership and staff will join your meetings to help guide the conversations and provide support.
Join us for this day of empowerment and leave with the tools you need to advocate on behalf of GI year-round.
Brush up on your advocacy skills by exploring AGA’s education module on AGA University. Learn about how we engage with Capitol Hill and federal agencies, explore AGA town halls, effective policy communication, and read tips for effective policy communications and establishing a constituent relationship.
Note: Congressional meeting participants will be required to complete the “How to have an effective Hill meeting” module prior to Advocacy Day.
