MSDC's Women in Medicine Section (WIM) is launching a social media campaign to promote and support women in medicine in our nation's capital. The weekly series will feature events, information, resources, and physician spotlights to support the section's mission of increasing the number and influence of women physicians in leadership roles.
The series will be moderated by MSDC member Dr. Monika Masanam (pictured to the left), who is a general surgery resident at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Masanam says that "having a social media presence will allow WIM to reach a larger audience of physicians in DC, feature achievements of MSDC members, and promote future events." Look for the series on Fridays with the hashtag #WIMMSDC on MSDC's Twitter (@medsocdc), Facebook (@MedSocDC), and Instagram (@medicalsocietydc) accounts.
MSDC's Women in Medicine Section is also arranging other programs and events to continue the many offerings since the section launched two years ago. The section will meet at Taking Health to New Heights on July 15. Interested physicians are encouraged to participate, either in planning meetings or by attending the July 15 social.
