Private Practice Physician Section Holds Organizing Get-Together
On Thursday night, the Private Practice Physician Section held its organizing meeting and social to kick off the year. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the meeting was held over video conference, which did not dampen the enthusiasm of participants.
Co-Chairs Dr. John Dombrowski and Dr. Neal Barnard welcomed participants and held a conversation about the areas of interest for the section. Participants (who have practices across the District) talked about programming around the following areas:
- The newly introduced prior authorization bill in the DC Council
- ACOs and how MSDC can help educate members on their benefit
- Value based payments and how practices can best utilize this care method
- Building referral networks and best ways to exchange ideas
The next Private Practice Physician Section events are the Advocacy Dinner and Training preceding the first MSDC Council visit day. The DC Council Lobbying Day on March 10 is an opportunity for private practice physicians to discuss with Councilmembers the challenges and benefits of practicing medicine in 2022.
