Thank you Pia Duryea
MSDC Director of Engagement Pia Duryea announced this week that she will be leaving the Society to take a position with another nonprofit organization. Ms. Duryea's last day is October 7.
In her 12 years with the Medical Society, Ms. Duryea oversaw some of the Society's biggest initiatives and achievements. In just the past year, she managed the Society's two most successful meetings in over twenty years and helped guide the creation of the new Fast Track to Leadership Program and mentorship program.
Pia grew up in Connecticut but adopted the Washington area as her home after she graduated from Oberlin College. She is an experienced association professional, having worked for agricultural, utility, and cooperative associations before coming to MSDC in 2012. She is proud of her Danish heritage and active in her community, serving as an elections officer in Arlington County and in multiple leadership roles at Toastmasters, a public speaking organization where she has led communications workshops. Her favorite things about DC are the diversity, museums, and running trails.
