DC Modifies Healthcare Workplace Quarantine Requirements
DC Health made an expected change to their healthcare workplace requirements this week when they modified the requirement for personnel who have a COVID-19 exposure.
The new guidance, seen here, now says that facilities may "elect to waive work restriction requirements for HCP with exposure to a confirmed COVID-19 case." The exposed HCP does need to have been fully vaccinated (14 days post final dose), within 90 days of the receipt of the final dose, and asymptomatic. Even personnel with the requirements waived still need to monitor for possible symptoms. DC Health notes the quarantine waiver could also apply outside of the facility as well.
