MSDC Executive Committee Endorses Statement on Vaccine Requirements at Medical Facilities
On Tuesday, the MSDC Executive Committee approved the following statement on behalf of the organization:
MSDC believes that the safety of our patients, staff, and families is paramount. Research has shown that the most effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 [SARS-COV-2] is to get vaccinated. With variants showing the danger of allowing COVID-19 to spread and mutate, widespread vaccination is more important than ever.
MSDC believes all healthcare facilities should be permitted to require COVID vaccines as a condition of employment for all staff. Patients should know that their healthcare providers are following the science to protect their health with every visit. Employees should be entitled to an accommodation on medical or religious grounds that exempts them from the vaccine requirement under certain circumstances.
For further guidance, here is the DC government policy.
